Ungrateful little fools!

Category: the Rant Board

This is not a post-Christmas rant about lack of gratitude for presents. Fortunately I have not been the recipient of that one from the young birds out here.
But this I do not understand: People post information exclusive to us who use the VoiceOver or Talkback or whatever reader for your mobile device or PC, usually on to Twitter. These people, I am genuinely grateful for their help.
But you have other little tough-wannabes putting down the blind who "spend all day on Twitter" or "spend all day on the Internet," only to later repost a nugget from one of them.
Let's be honest: I don't have all day to look up this stuff. And probably neither do you. So how bout a little gratitude to those who post the useful info on whatever platform you're using? How about maybe lay off the crack and quit thrashing these others who post this to the online community for us? I know you probably think it makes you look tough, and at 16 it just might, in a gamer pale doughboy sorta way, but nobody likes an ingrate who bites the hand that feeds. You turdstools forget that these people posting this stuff online aren't getting paid to do this. They do whatever they do sifting through all the online goo and pull out the stuff that works for us. Twice I've been saved some serious headaches on the iPhone because of them, and once I was between work and volunteer activities when it happened. I'd have never had the time to go look all that up.
Even a couple times since I've been on vacation here, I've been on their Teamtalk server and a couple people I'd not met before lent a hand with the iPhone and at least in one instance it was an app I'd messed with and given up on several times for a matter of months. By and large, they're the reason I am still even using a Twitter and to some extent why I'm still on here. So it really has started to irk me something fierce how some will start targeting the blind in general, or particular Twitter users, or users of other places, for "having no life," when they're the ones who are send you shit on how to use your VoiceOver or Talkback or anything else. Hey, how bout you fools do one of two things: either leave those sites entirely / never use the help people offer online, or stop this real pathetic attempt at a tough guy act you pull on them, when they've fished the useful nuggets you use outa the sewers that is often the online places, and distributed them out so you could better use the devices you have? I wouldn't blame any of 'em for up and quitting. Nobody likes an ingrate.
And to those of you who consistently get out there and find this stuff for us? It's our fault we don't speak up often enough and thank you guys for the help, and I will do more of that. But if you want my advice, if you get a tough-guy act, or a snooty-girl act from one of these, my advice is, next time they come beggin for your help, how bout you not so subtly invite them to do their beggin at a different door? You guys are the reason some of us even know about, let alone use, many of these life-changing apps and devices we have now. I hope you know this.
And to you punks who are going on about people on Twitter and othe rplaces having no life? , the tough boy act here isn't making you look big and strong. That snooty better-than-them smirk doesn't make you look professional, not like you think it does.

Good post.
I have learned a lot from podcasts and such that these guys put together in their free time.
Nicely said.

Ah yes, there's the podcasts: something many of us myself included have learned a whole lot from, but ourselves would never dare make one. I can't say how many things I have learned about on how to use my iPhone because of the Applevis and other people, like Mike Arrigo and them. And those tips usually save my ass.

Good one Uncle, good one. When i first saw the subject heading, i thought it will be a rant about ungreatful young things for their present or just the Post Christmas Stress that seems to float around. hehehe.

This is why I put together podcast for android because until recently not many were beeing updated. I have sense slowed down because it looks like mike areago and Anna have started more podcast for now. Yes, I have gotten flak about beeing an android advicate but that comes with the taritory. To add, I am greatful for those who put podcast out, to those who have put a quick how to for voiceover for the mac and in the past for those who covered Dead OS' like windows moble 6.0.

I'm only disappointed the BlindCoolTech people haven't posted your podcasts but I guess they aren't adding new stuff anymore.

Nothing wrong with being an android person. It is a source of mobile phones that can be accessible if you've got the information.
This is my major gripe with it, no information, so I'd be greatful if I chose one and could find help.
Keep up the giving.

A friend of mine at the center used to have an android until it got stolen. Now I have neither an IPhone or an Android, but it seems like the IPhone is more accessible, but it's like you said. It's all in preference.

preach it brother, preach it! more ttimes then I can count I had to ask someone on twitter to help me with my IPod touch. I always thank them, but really, they do not have to do it, they could just leave us to our own devices.

Leo,
I know what you mean, though I haven't seen much of the Said Reposting.
I'm very thankful to places like VIphone and Applevis, and wish I could post to them more often since I have found many useful and helpful apps in App-Store Hunting.
I wish there was an easier way to post to such sites (mainly applevis) so I could share more of what I've found.
I hope to see your posts more often, they are very informative and quite humarous.
